Wow, Oregon is beautiful! We woke to to a good sleep and could hear the waves of the ocean. I slept awesome in my tent. When we woke up it was 52F, a bit chilly, but great sleeping weather. We packed up and headed to get some breakfast and stopped at The Schooner at Netarts
Bay. Wow, what a gem, excellent breakfast. The sights were excellent, the food great, the only thing weird was the waiter was literally sprinting around to each table and to the kitchen. I'm not talking a jog, he was sprinting as fast as possible. It was weird, but great entertainment. This is Catherine from Seattle, she was interested in Red Velvet and where we were riding.
The ride just got better and better....
Scott watering the flowers...
Those white things on the rocks are seals! They were fun to watch!
Crossing the Columbia
That dark spot in the ocean is a grey whale...we watched it surface many times!
We then decided to stay at south beach camp ground and we talked ourselves into a campsite and got site 30B and it pretty nice too.
Here is Scott's new friend, heavy D the squirrel.
After we got our campsite ready, I took a walk out to the beach, about 1/4 of a mile away. The water was COLD! I just waded in it for a while...beautiful beach again.
Nice fire...fresh cedar burning is the best!
And a cold one by the fire is a good way to end the day.
